Spring Valley rises in golf rankings

Spring Valley Golf Club has moved up one position in the most recent golf course rankings for Golf Australia magazine.
The 2018 rankings saw Spring Valley move up to be ranked as the 42nd best in Australia and as the ninth best in metropolitan Melbourne.
The judges wrote:
“One of the most underrated Melbourne Sandbelt tracks is now starting to be recognised for its quality,” one reviewer wrote.
“Well-designed strategic holes, and good bunkering, make this a great course to play.”
Another judge wrote: “The finishing touches still remain to be applied, but there are moments where Spring Valley is as good and as fun as anything in Melbourne.”
Metropolitan Melbourne courses ranked in top 100 by Golf Australia magazine:

4. Kingston Heath
6. Royal Melbourne East
12. Victoria
15. Metropolitan
16. Woodlands
22. Commonwealth
32. Yarra Yarra
42. Spring Valley
The criteria the judges used to rank Spring Valley were 60 percent design, 20 percent condition and 20 percent visual appeal.
