Members On Tour – Sid Nadimpalli, Australia Amateur Championship

Published on 22nd January 2024 in GSC/Pro, Latest News, Public Latest News

It has been two memorable weeks for member Sid Nadimpalli by adding to his second place finish at the Master of the Amateur’s with a tied 4th at the Australian Amateurs.

Sid made a rocky start at Keysborough Golf Club with a back nine he would rather forget, but turned it around like good golfers do and fired a 65 at Yarra Yarra in the second round to make the cut with flying colours. The more impressive thing about the 65 was that Sid actually had to tee off at 4:30pm after a rain delay earlier pushed back his tee time. Sid then battled valiantly in tough conditions on the last two days to finish in a tie for fourth.

The golf doesn’t stop for Sid as his next ventures take him north to NSW, to play in the Avondale Amateur and the NSW Amateur. All the best Sid, a big win is just around the corner!

*It is also worthy to note that with all this amazing golf Sid has been playing his handicap is the lowest we have have at the club sitting at a cool +5.4. Off the white tee’s here at SV, Sid would only have to have an easy 65 off the stick to have 36 stableford points. Pretty Impressive!

The Australia Master Of The Amateur’s (AMOTA) stands as Australia’s premier amateur event, bringing together the finest amateur players from across the globe.

Sid Nadimpalli, one of the shining stars from Spring Valley, secured entry into this prestigious event based on his world golf amateur ranking. Positioned around the midfield among competitors, Sid approached the week with confidence, especially given his familiarity with the Southern Golf Club.

Over the course of four days, Sid delivered a stellar performance, notching impressive rounds of 69, 67, 75, and 66, accumulating to an outstanding 11-under total. Despite narrowly missing the top spot by a single stroke, Sid showcased remarkable resilience, overcoming some unlucky breaks with incredible putting skills. The live coverage of AMOTA highlighted Sid’s distinctive style and flair, adding to the pride of Spring Valley.

As Sid moves forward, his journey continues with the Australian Amateur Championship this week, hosted at the distinguished Yarra Yarra and Keysborough Golf Clubs. Congratulations, Sid – a major title surely awaits on the horizon!
