Women’s Oaks Day Wrap Up

This year brought a delightful twist to the event with an option to bet on the winning golfer. Congratulations are in order for Linda Wilson, who drew Fern Thomson and clinched the major prize of $50.00.
A heartfelt thanks goes out to Lois Barnett and Carol Dorahy for seamlessly running multiple sweeps and spreading joy among the participants. Special recognition is also due to Paula Brockfield, who also played a pivotal role in the success of both sweeps.
After the final putts, golfers and lunch guests were treated to a delectable High Tea. The sight of members donning fascinators added an extra touch of elegance to the post-golf festivities.
Congratulations to Shirley Munro and Pam Wheelens, the Oaks Day Aggregate Par Winners, who secured victory with a score of 1 Up, narrowly defeating runners-up Paula Brockfield and Pam Doran.
The Oaks Day Individual Par was claimed by Fern Thomson with an impressive score of +4, narrowly surpassing Shirley Munro with +3. Fern Thomson continued her winning streak, taking home the prestigious Heritage Cup with a remarkable 4 Up. Her skill and determination on the course did not go unnoticed, earning her well-deserved applause from fellow participants.
Special mentions go to Hayley Peters and Jill Prior, who showcased precision and accuracy in their game to become the Nearest the Pin winners.
