Notice from the Board – The National Golf Club

Published on 31st March 2019 in Guests News

You may be aware Huntingdale Golf Club and The National Golf Club have been engaged in discussions for some time regarding a proposal for a potential merger between both clubs. Such discussions recently ceased due to both Parties not being able to agree on terms and conditions.

Since the cessation of the above-mentioned negotiations, there has been speculation on Radio SEN and a golf podcast, “Inside the Ropes,” that The National has approached Spring Valley Golf Club to investigate a potential merger. On behalf of the Board, I can categorically advise this has not occurred.

Your Board, however, is open to assessing all strategic options for the future sustainability of the club provided it be in the best interests of members and Spring Valley Golf Club. Further, you can be assured that should any significant proposal to investigate a change to our current model be under consideration by your Board, members shall and will be fully consulted.

Once again, the Board confirms it has not received any such proposal and that any suggestion to the contrary is pure speculation.

On Behalf of The Board

Mark O’Sullivan

President
