2018 Men’s Club Championship Semi Final Results

It was a perfect Autumn day for the Semi Finals of the 2018 Men’s Championship with the course presented in superb condition for the days play. In Club Grade results 2016 Club Champion Scott Hooper narrowly edged out 2017 Club Champion Craig Dyer to win 2/1, Scott is set to take on fellow pennant play Simon Ellis who was also involved in a tight tussle narrowly defeating Wayne Nix 2 up. 2017 A Grade Champion Blake Sorensen continued his strong form of late defeating Mal Sosbey 3/2, Blake will be facing Robert Loft in the A Grade Final who put in an extremely solid performance winning his match over Peter Killen 6/5. Geoff Cadwallader had to fight hard for his win over Brad Flintoff requiring 19 holes get the result in what was the match of the day, Simon Richards was able to hold off James Marsh with a 4/2 win to also make his way through to the B Grade Final. Kevin Ryan produced a stellar performance winning his match convincingly over Craig Neave 8/7, Hatel Patel however had to work much harder only narrowly winning his match 1 up against Andrew Dunlop. Both Longmarker finalists put in solid performances to qualify with Peter Lanigan defeating Peter Meade 4/2 while Barry Gust won his match 3/1 against Harrison Dziubinski.
The 2018 Men’s Club Championship Finals are scheduled on Saturday 5th May, Club Grade will have 36 holes to decide this winner with all grades to set to commence the final 18 holes from 11.23am from the 1st tee. Be sure to get down to Spring Valley to watch what’s sure to be an exciting days play!
