The 2018 Syllabus hard copy is now available for collection from the Golf Service Centre.

Please note the following changes to the 2018 syllabus:

  • Junior Subcommittee changes – We have removed the Junior SubCommittee at this stage in time in order for us to fully review our junior programs, pathways and staff resources. The junior program is an integral part of Spring Valley Golf Club and changes to this program/pathway/resources will be announced in due time. Currently, we have started the MyGolf Junior Clinic in Term 1 and appointed a new golf programs coordinator for the junior golf program.
  • Risk Committee addition – In recognition of governance and policies review, the Board has appointed a Risk Committee to work with the new General Manager on all issues of OH & S, Risk Management and Policies.
  • Change of dates noted (in comparison to past year) for events – Men’s Club Championship, President’s Trophy, Captain’s Trophy, Men’s Foursomes and Greens renovation works (close of course)
  • Change to the dress code – inclusion of all coloured socks for men and women (as long as it adhered to a neat golf attire look) and untucked shirts now allowed if its designed to be so (and still adhering to the neat golf attire look).
  • Changes to the mobile phone policy – silent mode now permissible on the course. Previously, it was a policy for mobile phones to be switched off during golf.

Extreme weather policy – the correct procedure for siren use on the golf course are (which are incorrectly noted in the syllabus print):

  • One prolonged note of the siren indicates leaving the course and return to the club house immediately due to a dangerous situation
  • Three consecutive notes of the siren indicates course unplayable and all players are to leave the course and return immediately to the clubhouse
  • Resumption of play will be indicated by two short notes of the siren.

Club Management would like to take this opportunity to again apologise for the delay in the syllabus distribution and print. Please note that there have been nominal changes here and there (in comparison to past year) and all members are advised to check the online timesheet as the final dates (due to changes or event postponement) will be visible on the online timesheet.

Members contact details – It is advisable to refer to the Members Online Directory for members contact details as it may have changed since syllabus print.
